During the Kazakhstan Presidency of the Conference on Cooperation and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA), of which our country is one of the 16 founding members, our Deputy Minister Burak DEMİRALP participated in the Ministerial Conference on Environment held on 28 August 2024.
The conference started with the opening speech of the Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yerlan Nyssanbayev. At the meeting where the issues of Pollution, Climate Change, Biodiversity, green and sustainable economy and clean water were discussed, our Deputy Minister Mr. Burak DEMİRALP talked about the global achievements of the Zero Waste Movement, which was initiated under the leadership of our Ministry in 2017, and explained the studies carried out in this context in our country to the Ministers of CICA countries.
In addition, the importance of regional and international cooperation in order to determine compliance within the scope of green transformation in the industry carried out in our country and to protect clean water and biodiversity in our fight against climate change was mentioned.
At the conference, it was emphasized by our Deputy Minister that we renewed our commitment to find solutions to environmental problems within the framework of the principles of common but differentiated responsibilities and relative capabilities. It was also emphasized that our country will continue to contribute to both global and regional actions within the framework of national conditions.
At the end of the meeting, the final document was adopted and ended with the closing speech of Minister Yerlan Nyssanbayev.
