Deputy Minister Fatma Varank participated in the session titled “Cryosphere Adaptation Process and Disaster Risk Reduction: Lessons Learned and Next Steps for the Hindu Kush–Karakoram–Himalaya Region,” organized by the Government of Pakistan as part of the COP30 program, and delivered a speech.
Moderated by Aisha Humera, Secretary of the Ministry of Climate Change and Environmental Coordination of Pakistan, the session highlighted Pakistan’s exposure to climate-induced disasters and the severe risks posed by melting glaciers. Deputy Minister Varank underlined Türkiye’s solidarity with Pakistan in the face of these challenges.
