The kick-off meeting for the Nizip Water Supply System Project, coordinated by the Department of EU Investments within Ministry of Environment and Urbanization, has been realized on 28 May 2013 with the participation of Mr. Mehmet SARI, member of parliament of Gaziantep, Mr. Yaşar KARADENİZ, district governor of Nizip, Mr.Hacı Fevzi AKDOĞAN, the mayor of Nizip Municipality, Mr. Latif KARADAĞ, deputy mayor of Nizip Municipality, Mr. İsmail Raci BAYER the director of the Department of EU Investments, Mr. Arif KARBAK, task manager from EU Delegation and other representatives of the Department, the Nizip Municapility with the Consultant Fichtner-FCG-Piramit Engineering consortium and the Contractor Asil İnşaat.
The Works contract of the Project has been signed on 28.12.2012and the commencement date of the Works was 28.05.2013. The contract value is 10.384.481,24 Euro and duration of the contract is 730 days. In the scope of the contract, the following studies will be performed:
- Replacement of house connections
- Renewal (approx. 14,8 km asbestos cement pipes and 29,7 km old PVC pipes according to the leak detection program results) and new construction of water transmission and distribution network (approx. 171 km);
- Installation of bulk water meters
- Installation of 6 flow meters to monitor the system;
-Renewal of existing reservoirs and construction of 2 new reservoirs;
- Construction of a pumping station (five sets of pumps), including all supplies for mechanical and electrical installation.
