Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Murat Kurum, hosted by Egypt at the 27th Anniversary of the United Nations (UN) Framework Convention on Climate Change. Participated in the program of the Conference of the Parties (COP27). Opening the Turkish Pavilion established in the fair area where the meetings were held, the Authority stated in his speech that they would tell the whole world about Turkey's fight against climate change by sharing the activities they will carry out as Turkey during the conference.

Turkey Pavilion to Host 77 Events

Turkey Pavilion will host a total of 77 events, including 65 panels and 12 presentations. Scientists, mayors and ministry bureaucrats will make presentations at the meetings. In the presentations where the green transformation move will be explained in full detail, Turkey's fight against climate change will be announced to the whole world.

Stating that they will represent our country at COP27 with 595 participants consisting of Members of the Parliamentary Environment Commission, deputies, mayors and academics, the Minister Kurum reminded that they are struggling to keep the temperature of the Earth at 1.5 degrees and that decisions will be taken in this direction here, "In line with these decisions, we are trying to take our steps in order not to leave anywhere behind. In this sense, as the Republic of Turkey, we have announced our 2053 Net Zero emission target under the leadership of our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. In line with this goal, together with all our stakeholders, we carry out the studies that need to be done in line with our country's 2053 net zero emission target with great sensitivity. In this context, we will update the national contribution declaration of our country in the general assembly. Although our country has no historical responsibility, we will share the steps we have taken with the whole world." "Our most important concern is to leave a better world to our young people, to whom we will entrust our future," Minister Kurum said, adding that they have taken very important steps that will be an example to the world within the framework of the "Vision of Turkey" in this direction. Minister Kurum, examined the works of Turkish artists exhibited in the Turkey Pavilion and talked to the artists.
