Within the scope of ‘Technical Assistance Project for Reinforcement of European Union Investments Department’s Capacity’, the business visit arranged by Consortium of PM Group with the counselor company Grontmij, was paid with the participation of Coordinator of Procurement Division-Serap Peker, Coordinator of Technical Implementation Division-Özlem Esengin, and 18 other personnel from the Department at 29th of August,2014.
In the first part of the trip, our committee visited İSTAÇ (Istanbul Environmental Protection and Waste Utilization in Industry and Trade Inc. of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality) Kömürcüoda 2nd Class Landfill of Wastes in which domestic wastes of İstanbul Anatolian Side were disposed of. In this manner, chief of the facility Mr. Erkan Alioğlu gave detailed information about the landfill by accompanying us in the field during the visit.
In the second part of the trip, İZAYDAŞ (İzmit Waste and Residue Treatment, Incineration and Recycling Co Inc.), in which the disposal of hazardous and clinical wastes was conducted by incineration. During the visit which was began with a meeting General Manager of İZAYDAŞ, Mr. Muhammet Saraç participated in; it was given detailed and technical answers to our experts’ questions.
During these business visits, detailed information about Landfill of Wastes, Pre-treatment Facility, Incineration of Clinical and Hazardous Wastes and Generation of Energy, Sterilization of Medical Waste, Production of Biogas, Generation of electricity from LFG coal gas, refinement of leakage from garbage were provided by authorized personnel.
