Within the scope of contract “Technical Assistance to Prepare Integrated Solid Waste Management Projects - Lot No 1-2007TR16IPO001.1-2.01/SER/07” signed between Contracting Authority (Department of EU Investments within the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization) and the Consultant (PM Group - Parsons Brinckerhoff ISWM Lot Consortium) a study tour has been realized on 04-09 August 2014 in Ireland.
Our Director Ferruh PARMAKSIZ, Project Preparation Expert Buket CİCİOĞLU, Contract Expert Özgür Uğraş and Monitoring and Evaluation Expert M.Sait ÇİÇEK and Geological Engineer from General Directorate of Environmental Management have participated the study tour on behalf of Ministry Of Environment and Urbanization. Participants from 4 Metropolitan Municipalities and 3 Solid waste Unions have attended the study tour as project beneficiaries.
The participants have had the chance to learn good practices and lessons from valuable experiences by means of visiting a variety of business firms and key government institutions playing crucial roles. The delegation have been informed by Irish Authorities about operational management of the landfill and civic amenity centers, waste sorting and composting plants, leachate and gas treatment and solid waste management in tourism sector.
Study Tour Delegation visited Ireland Ministry of Environment, Ireland Enterprise Agency. Study Tour Delegation also visited Ireland Parliament and met with Ms. Joan BURTON, Deputy Prime Minister of Ireland; Mr. Ciaran Lynch, member of Ireland Parliament.
