At the conference, which was held in cooperation with the Portuguese and Kenyan governments, Türkiye was represented by the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, EU and Foreign Relations General Manager Aytaç Yüksel, Environmental Management General Manager Eyyüp Karahan and Natural Heritage Conservation General Manager Hacı Abdullah Uçan and their delegation. Some heads of state and ministers, as well as industry representatives and experts on the subject attended the meeting with the theme of "Save Our Ocean, Protect Our Future".

Türkiye's Efforts to Protect its Seas Explained

At the conference, which was organized to raise awareness about the state of the oceans and to encourage investments in scientific and innovative solutions, Ministry officials conveyed to the participants the work carried out to protect the seas of Türkiye under the umbrella of the Zero Waste Blue Project. Issues such as green technology, innovative use of marine resources, marine pollution, illegal fishing, loss of biodiversity were also discussed at the conference.
