The International Zero Waste Day event was held at the Headquarters of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in Paris. Mrs. Emine Erdoğan sent a video message to the program hosted by Turkey's Permanent Representative to UNESCO.
Zero Waste activities carried out in Turkey and on international platforms were shared with the participants at the event, which was hosted by the Permanent Representative of Turkey to UNESCO with the initiatives of our Paris Environment and Urban Planning Consultancy.
In the program, our Permanent Representative to UNESCO, Ambassador Prof. Dr. Gülnur Aybet, UNESCO Deputy Director-General Qu Xing and UNESCO Executive Board Chairman Tamara Rastovc Siamashvili made speeches, while the video message of UNESCO General Conference President Santiago Irazabal Mourao was shared. Many participants, especially Ambassadors of UNESCO member states and UNESCO executives, took part in the event, where the Global Commitment to Represented Zero Waste was signed.
After the speeches, a copy of the "Zero Waste Global Commitment" document signed by Mrs. Emine Erdoğan and United Nations (UN) Secretary General Antonio Guterres during the 77th UN General Assembly in New York within the scope of combating the climate crisis was also signed by the guests.
