Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Mr. Murat Kurum received the Vice President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Matteo Patrone and his accompanying delegation. Deputy Minister Mr. Ömer Bulut was also present at the meeting, where Mr. İsmail Tüzgen, General Director of European Union and Foreign Relations, and Mr. Recep Türk, General Manager of İlbank, were present.

During the meeting between the delegations, many issues were discussed, from studies on Turkey's earthquake zone to climate change. During the meeting, Kurum stated that the joint work with the EBRD, which has been ongoing since 2009, has continued increasingly in recent years, and thanked the guest delegation for the solidarity shown by the EBRD, especially after the February 6 earthquakes.

Infrastructure Projects Will Be Conducted in 6 Provinces with EBRD

Explaining that 8 environmental infrastructure projects will be implemented in Adıyaman, Gaziantep, Hatay, Malatya, Mersin and Osmaniye within the scope of joint studies to be carried out with EBRD, Kurum said, "Our friends are carrying out the completion and construction process of the projects here. Hopefully, we would like to hold the groundbreaking and opening of our projects there together with you." " he said. Emphasizing that half of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development's investments in Turkey are sustainable infrastructure investments, Kurum stated that the cooperation to be initiated between İller Bank and EBRD is also valuable.

Cooperation in All Fields

EBRD Vice President Matteo Patrone stated that Turkey is one of the most important countries with which they cooperate. Emphasizing that green transformation is one of the main joint investment issues with Turkey, Patrone stated that the financial support to be provided to municipalities in the earthquake zone within the scope of the Post-Earthquake Reconstruction Project may increase after the feasibility studies are completed. Patrone said, "We would like to increase cooperation in every possible field. Our cooperation with ILBANK is of great importance to us. We would be very pleased to carry out joint studies with both ILBANK and the Turkish Environment Agency in the coming period." made his assessment.
