COP31 Roadmap Shared with Observer Groups in Copenhagen

COP31 President Mr. Murat Kurum met with representatives of observer groups under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) as part of his engagements in Copenhagen.

During the meeting, the COP31 roadmap and common approach were presented, while the expectations and recommendations of observer groups regarding the process were discussed. The importance of conducting COP31 preparations in a more inclusive and stronger manner, with the contributions of academia, youth, local governments, the private sector and civil society, was emphasized.

Minister Murat Kurum also held a bilateral meeting with Mr. Willem Aucamp, South Africa’s Minister of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment. During the meeting, steps to strengthen international solidarity were evaluated, while the importance of common sense and cooperation in climate action, sustainable cities and environmental policies was highlighted.
