Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Mr. Murat Kurum Meets with UNFCCC Executive Secretary Mr. Simon Stiell to Discuss COP31

Minister Mr. Murat Kurum held a meeting in Istanbul with Mr. Simon Stiell, Executive Secretary of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), within the scope of COP31.

During the meeting, the preparations for COP31, global expectations and Türkiye’s priorities were discussed. Minister Mr. Murat Kurum expressed his great satisfaction with working closely with the UNFCCC Secretariat throughout the preparation process of the conference.

It was noted that the meeting was regarded as a strong and trust-based step on the road to COP31. It was also emphasized that the COP31 Presidency will be carried out with an inclusive, balanced and result-oriented political approach.
