Zero Waste and COP31 Diplomacy in the United States

COP31 President and Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, Mr. Murat Kurum, held a series of engagements in the United States within the framework of the “30 March International Day of Zero Waste.”

As part of his program, Minister Kurum met with representatives of civil society organizations and shared comprehensive assessments on Türkiye’s Zero Waste vision and the COP31 process, which will be hosted by our country. He later held meetings with UNDP Administrator Mr. Alexander de Croo, UNEP Executive Director Ms. Inger Andersen, and UN Secretary-General Mr. Antonio Guterres. Deputy Minister Ms. Fatma Varank, President of Climate Change Prof. Dr. Halil Hasar, and Director General for EU and Foreign Relations Mr. İsmail Tüzgen were also present during the meetings.
