Progress meetings for Erzincan Water and Waste Water Project were held on March, 22nd and 23rd in Erzincan to evaluate the current state of the project. The project, managed by the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization (MoEU), aims to renew the existing drinking water facilities as well as constructing new network and construct additional units for waste water treatment facilities.
The meeting was attended by the Contract Manager, Engineer Mr. Özgür Uğraş from Technical Implementation Unit (TIU) of the Department of European Union Investments of the MoEU, the Deputy Mayor of Erzincan Mr. Sami Mollaoğulları, the Head of Erzincan Municipality Water and Sewerage Directorate Mr. İsmail Budak, Mr. Özgür Öcal from the Delegation of the European Union to Turkey and representatives from the consultant and contractor companies.
On project completion, the existing 275 km-long safe drinking water network will be renewed and 17 km-long new drinking water network will be constructed. In addition to this, four water reservoirs and five water wells will be constructed. The existing five wells will be rehabilitated. The 12 km-long force main will be renewed and the SCADA monitoring system will be established. Furthermore, a 19 km-long waste water network and collector construction will be completed while the existing waste water treatment plant will be upgraded to the modern standards and capacity through the inclusion of additional units and renewal of existing units.
The total budget of the project is 35.389.562,00 Euro and it is funded by national and European Union funds under IPA Programme.
