Hosted by our Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, a meeting was held with a delegation from The Gambia to discuss the reporting of transport-related emission data.
Deputy Director General for European Union and Foreign Affairs, Mr. Ali Erhan Yılmaz, in his opening remarks, expressed his pleasure in welcoming the delegation within the scope of the COMCEC Project Funding Mechanism, stating: “Relations between Türkiye and The Gambia continue to progress in a spirit of friendship and solidarity.”
Mr. Yılmaz also outlined the efforts carried out by our Ministry in the fields of environmental management and climate change. He emphasized, in particular, that the Zero Waste project, implemented under the auspices of the First Lady, has contributed to the reduction of carbon emissions.
The Gambian delegation was given comprehensive presentations by representatives of the Directorate General for Environmental Management and the Department of Climate Change.
