First Lady of the Republic of Türkiye and Honorary President of the Zero Waste Foundation, Her Excellency Emine Erdoğan, chaired the “4th Official Meeting of the UN Advisory Board of Eminent Persons on Zero Waste,” held within the scope of the International Zero Waste Forum.
In her opening speech, Her Excellency Erdoğan greeted the UN Deputy Secretaries-General, the First Lady of Sierra Leone, Her Excellency Fatima Maada Bio, and members of the Advisory Board. Expressing her happiness at hosting the world’s largest zero waste organization, the International Zero Waste Forum, Her Excellency Erdoğan stated, “The spirit we have captured in our Advisory Board holds a very special place for me. The friendships we have built are as meaningful as the work we carry out.”
The meeting was attended by Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, His Excellency Murat Kurum; Minister of Agriculture and Forestry, His Excellency İbrahim Yumaklı; and Minister of Industry and Technology, His Excellency Mehmet Fatih Kacır.

Following the Forum, Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, His Excellency Murat Kurum, stated:
“We held our Ministers’ Session, which began with the opening remarks of Her Excellency Emine Erdoğan. We hosted ministers from a wide geography—from America to Asia, from Europe to Africa, from the Pacific Islands to the Mediterranean. Through country statements, we recorded our collective determination to protect our common home, the Earth, and took another important step so that future generations can look to tomorrow with hope.”
