The kick-off meeting for Construction of Erdemli Rehabilitation of Water Supply System and Sea Outfall, which is funded by the European Union (EU) Commission and coordinated by the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization, was held in Mersin on January 29, 2015.
The meeting witnessed the participation of Mr. Burhanettin Kocamaz, Mersin Metropolitan Municipality Mayor, Mr. Ferruh Parmaksız, Head of Ministry of Environment and Urbanization Department of EU Investments, Ms. Elif Ceyda Torcu, EU Delegation to Turkey Sector Manager, Mr. Turgut Aybak, General Director of Mersin Water and Sewerage Administration as well as the representatives of the contractor and the consultant firms.
In the scope of the works contract, rehabilitation of water supply system of approximately 30 km as well as construction of sea outfall of 1.4 km will be carried out. The contract value is 6.613.892,07 € and the duration of the work is 305 days. 82% of the project budget is to be financed by the EU resources, 18% by the national resources.
