Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Mr. Murat Kurum drew attention to the importance of COP 31 during his bilateral meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin’s Special Representative for Climate Change Mr. Ruslan Edelgeriyev.
Minister Kurum stated the following in his statement after the meeting: “We expressed our belief that COP 31 will strengthen our country’s successful work on climate change and pioneer many important initiatives and cooperation globally.” Mr. Murat Kurum thanked Mr. Edelgeriyev and emphasized that such cooperation plays a critical role in combating climate change. Deputy Minister Ms. Fatma Varank, Ambassador to Azerbaijan Assoc. Prof. Dr. Cahit Bağıcı, President of Climate Change Prof. Dr. Halil Hasar and Director General of European Union and Foreign Relations Mr. İsmail Tüzgen were present at the meeting.
