A technical study visit was carried out on November 10-14, 2014 in the United Kingdom (Scotland and England) with the participation of our Deputy Undersecretary Mr. Murat ZORLUOĞLU, our Director Mr. Ferruh PARMAKSIZ, Deputy General Director of Occupational Services Mr. Murat ORAL, 11 staff from our Department, 2 staff from the Provincial Directorates of MoEU (Konya and Kahramanmaraş), 1 staff from General Directorate of GIS, 1 staff from Legal Consultancy Department, 1 staff from Directorate of Strategy Development and 1 expert from Undersecreteriat of Treasury as well as two Technical Assistance Team Members.
Within the scope of the study visit; Seafield Wastewater Treatment Plant, William Tracey Recycling & Resource Management Group’s Linwood Material Recycling Faciliy (MRF), Cumbernauld Sustainable Drainage System, Esholt Thermal Hydrolosis Plant and Castleford Sewage Treatment Works were visited and information was inquired about the facilities from authorized experts.
Additionally, a meeting about technological innovations was carried out with Scottish Development International and the Scottish Parliament with the participation of several leading technology companies and the visiting delegation participated to a presentation about existing sludge management applications and technologies in the UK.
