Bulancak Water and Waste Water Project Steering Committee Meeting held

The Bulancak Water and Waste Water Projectteam held their Steering Committee meeting on March 15th to discuss the ongoing works in the region. The project,managed by the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization (MoEU), is planned to end one year from now with the completion of a Waste Water Treatment Plant (WWTP). During the meeting the current state of the works was discussed.
Attendees included Engineer Mr. Fatih Özyer from the Technical Implementation Unit (TIU) of theDepartment of European Union Investments of the MoEU and the Mayor of Bulancak Mr. Recep Yakar. Mr. Arif Karbak from the Delegation of the European Union to Turkey, representatives from the consultant and contractor companies and the Project Implementation Unit were also present at the meeting.
A safe drinking water system in line with the Turkish legislation and EU Directives will be available in a very short time to the region within the scope of this project and the WWTP is scheduled to be completed in March 2017. The project further includes a technical assistance and supervision contract component which will end in November of this year.
National and European Union funds amounting to 21,789,504.00 Euro support this project contracted under IPA Programme.
