Preparations for the biggest environmental infrastructure investment in the Sivas municipality are coming to a finish line

On 10th March 2016, the officials of the Department of EU Investments (DoEUI) had a meeting with a delegation from the Sivas Municipality, led by the Mayor Sami Aydın. The meeting was centered on the successful realization of the prospective “Sivas Wastewater Main Collector Line Project”.

At this coordination and information meeting, organized at the premises of the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization, the following topics were explained and discussed in a detailed manner: IPA funding procedures, project’s planning stages and stakeholders’ engagement processes.

This forthcoming project in the Sivas area has an estimated budget of 18 million Euros. The project will finance the construction of 30 km wastewater collector lines on both sides of the Kızılırmak River. The 30 km collecting lines will be connected to various sewer-collecting lines of several residential facilities’ that currently discharge into the river. The project includes also technical assistance and supervision services along with the construction of sewer main collector lines.

The project is currently in the final preparation’s stage. This important meeting is part of this preparatory stage, which started following an agreement on a roadmap for the design and funding of the project.
