Deputy Minister Fatma Varank attended the Ministerial Meeting of the 30th Conference of the Parties (COP30) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change held in Belém, Brazil.
Speaking on the first day of the meeting, Deputy Minister Varank underlined that Türkiye has announced its economy-wide and cross-sectoral Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC), stating: “Through this, we are accelerating our climate action.”
Recalling that this year marks the tenth anniversary of the Paris Agreement, she added, “It also reminds us that we must make a strong start as we enter a new implementation period.”
Concluding her remarks, Deputy Minister Varank said: “As Türkiye, we wish for COP30 to conclude with balanced, inclusive and implementable outcomes. As a candidate for COP31, we express our readiness to cooperate with all parties to ensure continuity and make implementation permanent.”
