Within the scope of his Geneva program, Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Murat Kurum met with UN-Habitat Executive Director Anaclaudia Rossbach and UNECE Executive Secretary Tatiana Molcean.

During the meetings held at the UN Office in Geneva, Minister Kurum highlighted Türkiye’s efforts in sustainable urbanization, social housing, and urban transformation. He shared information on the post-earthquake reconstruction campaign, Zero Waste, and the Nation’s Gardens projects, underlining Türkiye’s leading role in implementing the “New Urban Agenda.”

In his meeting with UNECE, Minister Kurum emphasized the importance Türkiye attaches to regional cooperation, stating, “We are determined to contribute to our common goals.” He also invited both institutions to the International Zero Waste Forum to be held in Istanbul on October 17–19.

Deputy Minister Ömer Bulut, Türkiye’s Permanent Representative to the UN Burak Akçapar, TOKİ President Mustafa Levent Sungur, and Director General for EU and Foreign Relations İsmail Tüzgen also attended the meetings.
