Deputy Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Ms. Fatma Varank participated in the High-Level Energy Transition Dialogue Meeting held within the scope of the United Nations General Assembly.
The meeting, which took place under the auspices of COP29 President Azerbaijan and the International Energy Agency (IEA) and hosted by the European Commission, focused on how to develop solutions to help turn the energy outcomes of COP29's first Global Situation Assessment into action. Participants had a constructive exchange of views on energy-related climate action and ambition to contribute to the energy outcomes at COP29. From Assessment to Action: How to Implement the COP28 Energy Targets A new report has been shared. In her speech at the meeting, our Deputy Minister Ms. Fatma Varank emphasized that Türkiye's Nationally Determined Contribution Targets are in line with the COP28 United Arab Emirates Consensus and pointed out that energy transformation is at the center of our climate policy.
