Deputy Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Mr. Ömer Bulut attended the 3rd Azerbaijan National Urban Forum held in Baku and Khankendi.
During the panel session in Khankendi, Mr. Bulut delivered a speech sharing Türkiye’s experience in sustainable urbanization, urban transformation, and post-conflict reconstruction. Following the forum, the Deputy Minister answered questions from the media and conducted field visits in Khankendi to receive information from local authorities and exchange views.
Deputy Minister Ömer Bulut also made statements to journalists regarding the reconstruction of the city of Shusha. Emphasizing that Shusha is a cultural capital that reflects Turkic heritage to the world, Mr. Bulut noted that the Azerbaijani government has restored the historic buildings damaged during the war while preserving their authenticity. He stated that Azerbaijan has successfully carried Shusha’s legacy from its past into the present and future, adding, “Azerbaijan has presented an exemplary model of urban planning that the whole world should see.”
Highlighting Türkiye’s strong position in the construction sector, Mr. Bulut also underlined that Turkish companies are actively contributing to the reconstruction process.
