Türkiye Takes Decisive Steps to Combat Climate Change

Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Murat Kurum shared Türkiye’s goals in combating climate change at the Pre-COP 29 event held in Baku. Kurum emphasized that this process is a crisis that deeply affects both Türkiye and the entire world.

Our Minister, Mr. Murat Kurum, summarized Türkiye's fight against climate change under the following headings:

• Adaptation Strategy and Action Plan for 2030 was implemented,

• The Climate Law will be passed by the Turkish Grand National Assembly in 2024,

• The Zero Waste movement, which has reached 7 continents in 7 years, will be moved to a new stage with the National Deposit Management System.

In addition, Minister Mr. Murat Kurum drew attention to the fact that COP 29 will be the first conference to be held in the Turkic World and wished this historic event to be a great success. Kurum wished that this struggle, carried out together with all stakeholders, will be beneficial for our country and the world.
